STEPS FOR BETTER EDUCATIONAL SOFTWARE USE

There should be no reason anymore to doubt about the effectiveness of educational software.  Many research studies have even recommended educational software as substitute for faster, more effective and fun ways of learning.  But personally, I still believe that there is still no substitute to a breathing and caring teacher.  With educational software at hand though, a teacher can make excellent results by following these steps:* If you’re teaching read and writing, you don’t want to be buying science software teaching students the different critters you can find in the animal kingdom.  So keep in mind the subject you’re teaching. * You should only buy software that is fun to use. Stay away from software that uses boring graphics and boring voice-overs. * Different students are at different levels of intelligence. When you’re checking out software, make sure that there are different levels that your students can be at. Having different (beginner, intermediate and advanced) levels built into the software will simply challenge students ante up their skills and increase their knowledge.
