Church Fund Raising For the Homeless
There are more homeless people now that the economy is bad therefore there are many church fund raising events to help the homeless. You may even see a lot of people in your area who have no home.
What is really sad is that many of these were young men in the Viet Nam era and they served their country and now they are neglected. There should be services for homeless people that are respectful of the individual and that address their needs for safety, warmth, food, but also their psychological needs as well. Every day there are people in many neighborhoods who are carrying everything they own in shopping carts and they are going through the garbage to find aluminum cans.
It’s now getting cold, and these people need to stay warm at night. It is very sad about how so many in our society are incredibly wealthy and so many people who have made sacrifices in this country are thrown away.
