State Contractor’s License Is Necessary
I was taking bids for a remodeling job in my home, and I had several people respond. One of the things I asked each person was whether or not they were in possession of a State Contractors License. One of the people was not. He told me that he had plenty of references to vouch for his quality work, but I told him he was in violation of the laws of the state. He acted surprised when I told him that to be a legal contractor, he needed to be licensed. I did not hire this person even though he seemed quite qualified.
